2024 Raffle Quilt returns home for time being

This year’s Raffle Quilt has returned home to the museum for the time being. It is displayed in the lobby, where a visitor said the afternoon sun through the bright colors makes it glow like stained glass art.

The quilt has been on display at Clackamas County Bank in Sandy and at the Sandy Invitational Chainsaw Carving event at the Farmers Market area June 1.

After the Sandy Mountain Festival the quilt will go back to Clackamas County Bank for display in their Boring and Welches Branches. It also will show at the Cruise-In Kiwanis Breakfast at Oral Hull Park July 28, and at the Boring and Dull Day event at the Boring Station Trailhead Park in Boring August 9. Raffle tickets will be on sale at each venue for $2 for one ticket or $5 for three tickets. The winning ticket will be drawn December 13.

This is the second raffle quilt that board member-emeritus Gary Coats has made and donated to benefit the museum. It uses a variation of contrast and batik fabrics from the former Bear Mountain Cabin style he made. The pattern was designed by Susan Dyer and Nancy Raschka-Reeves and features multi-colors in some 1,638 pieces of fabric hand-cut and sewn together, plus dark binding pieces.
